Beyond Plastic Bermuda has launched a new Primary Schools Assembly Programme created to encourage and inspire students to join the movement away from single-use plastics. Beyond Plastic’s goal is to inspire future generations to live sustainably and care for their health as well as the health of the environment.

The programme is called ‘#SNTSUP Classrooms ’and is available to all primary schools across the island. The acronym Say No To Single-Use Plastic has been promoted on all local media for the last year and likely familiar to most students.

Beyond Plastic have partnered with the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI) for the delivery of the school assemblies. BUEI is the National Operator for the Eco-Schools Bermuda programme, which promotes sustainable, student-led actions within schools.

The ‘#SNTSUP Classrooms’ presentation consists of a lively 25-minute introduction to single-use plastic through an animated video and slide show. In addition, each student attending the presentation receives a 12-page activity book, filled with ideas on how they can #SNTSUP at school and at home.

Beyond Plastic is extremely grateful to ONE Communications who are generously sponsoring the programme.

Primary schools are encouraged to register for presentations available from February through May 2023. To book an assembly or for more information, please e-mail Hannah Horsfield at
